Here is a piece I enjoy playing, and it still needs polishing.

Brazilian, Ernesto Nazareth wrote some beautiful music and was influenced by a great many composers. Arturo Lima's recordings of his works piqued my interest.

Ah, Glen, that was great. I'm going to have to try my hand at Nazareth - I've heard many of his pieces that I like. This was beautiful.

Thank you, Cathy and Michael for your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed this simple and pretty piece!

Ernesto Nazareth wrote over 200 compositions, many are tangos, sambas, foxtrots and quadrilles. He enjoyed ragtime and was heavily influenced by Chopin and African music. You can hear it clearly in many of his works.

That was a lovely performance! Tender, wistful, introspective. Beautifully done.

Is this a new recording? Are you "back"? laugh

I may not be fast,
but at least I'm slow.

Thank you for your comments on Eponina. The recording is not the most recent, but it seemed the most cogent of the lot. At some point, it would be great to tackle some of Nazareth's more spirited and complex rhythmic compositions.

I am working my way back, albeit very slowly. The injuries persist and recovery is gradual. As well, I will participate more regularly and look forward to reconnecting with PW friends.
