I've been reading a lot of threads about software pianos (e.g. Ravenscroft). I seriously want to upgrade to one of these but I'm not sure how much of an upgrade it will be.

Honestly I'm pretty happy with the sound on my digital piano through the speakers but the sound is a bit less natural when recorded with a direct line (especially the bass). I currently use a Roland RP301 and have used it for about a year. I've listened to a lot of samples for some of the more popular software pianos and they sound pretty good.

For the sake of comparison I made a recording today:

I don't know if this is too subjective but what I'm trying to get at is whether I will see much improvement in sound quality if I were to use something like the Ravenscroft. I've been going in circles on this for awhile now and would really appreciate some advice!
