A telling bit at the end, where he says each year he sells a little less, and probably the business has only 8 to 10 years left.

Last summer I visited this curious shop. The video is like its reality: the nice sales man (rare in Paris) was proud to sell old pieces much more expensive than new... Of course I didn't buy anything.

You can't say it's more expensive then new, if there are no equivalent new parts available.

Hi stock of parts garnered from old actions etc is a finite resource, and specialised.

Really? He wanted to sell me a single old used music desk at the price that sometimes I buy used complete grands... A nice man, anyway.

Like anything else the price is determined by supply and demand; I'm surprised there is demand for that price, though.
