I'd like to know how well your VST's sound over the CA95's speakers and soundboard, and which ones they are.

Many thanks in advance.

No one uses VST (pianoteq, galaxy vintage D, etc...) on CA95?

I did try that. PT over the CA-95 just isn't as good as the internal Kawai sound engine of the CA-95. Perhaps PT v5 or other future software packages. For now - CA-95 with it's own sound is the best option. Soundboard is great by the way...

+1 on what JPF said. I've only tried PianoTeq, but generally I prefer the internal sounds. PT has a nice richness in the mid-upper registers, but the bass lacks clarity and oomph. I too would be interested in hearing how Vintage D etc sound compared to the internal sounds.

Agreed. Pianoteq is better sounding than some of the low-end pianos (and better even than the high-priced ones from years ago). But today's better digital pianos might leave Pianoteq in the dust.

That Vintage D is superb. Also consider the many other makes of VST pianos. There are Steinways (both New York and Hamburg), Bosendorfers, Yamahas, Faziolis, and Kawais. I like the latter two best.

Each has its own distinctive sound, and they sound better than most any digital piano. For under $200 (under $100 in some cases) they're a bargain.

Everybody says the Vintage D is superb.

Am I the only one who hears relatively loud hammer-key noises (the noise you get from tapping the key), which are especially loud on the upper register notes? There's no option to turn those noises off. It's not any of the settings; I've tried all of them.

Synthogy Ivory II's German D / American D are much clearer without hammer-key noises.

Just something that's always bugged me, it's like I'm the only one who hears the loud TAP TAP TAP.

To be more clear, the TAP TAP TAP sound I'm talking about is as if you could "turn off" the sound to a piano and just play the keys. Yeah - that sound is very clearly heard especially in the upper register notes. I don't get why it has to be that way. Many of the sample libraries don't share this "feature".
