Well, I have sent off the passport app... they say 3 weeks minimum as it is a first passport, they also said I should try to avoid booking anything until it is processed in case anything goes wrong.

All well and good so long as the prices don't drastically increase between now and then eek fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!

Hello everybody!!!

Some words about our EPP:
The location and date it's closed but I'm in "negotiations" in order to get the lowest price for our EPP. As you understand, I need to know the approximate (or exact!) number of guests.
So, This is a kind of "intermediary call" because I need to start drawing a clean list.
Please answer: how are your plans?

Oh, and I added HBejinha, a friend of mine who will be with us in Lisbon.

Hi,

I will take holiday from work from thursday 3 july until monday 7 juli. The plan is to stay two nights in Lissabon, friday and saturday. The plain tickets I will buy end of may when holiday money is added to my bank account. Then it will be clear if I have to travel via Brussels or not, I think.

I've been looking at things to do and was wondering if anyone is interested in checking out some Fado music?

I too was looking over things to do in and around Lisbon, stumbled upon the exact same page about Fado and went researching... I'd be happy to check it out amongst other things, might as well make the most of the time. smile

Hello,
(I'm just traveling to Lisbon now. I was in the mountains on vacations without internet access)

So, sounds like everything is being prepared. That's great.

UKIkarus - An... interview? You need to do an interview to get a passport?

Casinitaly - Fado is great. It's a typical music of Lisbon region and it was inscribed in 2011 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Check here: http://www.unesco.org/culture/ich/RL/00563

more later.

Carlos, thanks for the link! I read about it in my tour guide book and got curious!

As for the passport interview... I can not imagine how exppensive that is for the government ...and look at this in the news for today: saying that it is , in effect, a waste of time!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...erviews-catch-only-eight-fraudsters.html

UKIkarus - I hope your interview goes smoothly and you get it soon - time is running down!!

I agree, it seems completely ridiculous and as you say is a complete waste of time for both parties involved.

Unfortunately, it has to be done in order for my application to be processed frown
My finger is itching over the booking pages, I have been looking for quite some time now but am stuck waiting for the all clear longer than I'd have liked.

I am still incredibly nervous about the whole thing, being a beginner I don't have much of a repertoire and last time I tried playing in front of a crowd I fell to bits frown

That's great UKIkarus!

I got a message from the Embassy that our new passports are ready too - mind you, we're already booked smile In our case it was a simple renewal.

Canada now has an option for 10 year passports (instead of just five) so we took that option - I won't have to think about it again for a long time!

Hello EPP members!
I'm glad you are having all the stuff ready in time to travel to Lisbon next July. That's great! I'm also doing the ending contacts with the restaurant regarding with some details about our party. I'll inform you soon about all the details.

Plus, I'm going to search for some travel options inside Lisbon. I know there are some special tickets to tourists but, sincerely, I don't know the prices or details.

But, my post is to proudly announce that Greener wants to come to our EPP2014 in Lisbon!!! And the chances are very high: "Hi Carlos. Just a quick note to advise that the EPP is very much on my radar.(...)".

And the same notice for those who are in the "confirmed list": let me know as soon as possible if you changed your mind about your participation in EPP2014. Thanks.

Here is the updated list:

Thank you, Carlos. I'll just say I am going to do my best. This is a Sales target for me, at work now. Plus Johnny (work colleague) is aware of it and quite vocal about it ... find me a Forensics Accountant with a CBV/CA/DIFA and a book of business and I'll charter you a learjet to Lisbon ... says Johnny laugh

Kidding aside, I really would like to come. As I was explaining to Carlos, I have never been to Europe in my life. So, what could be a better time or way to start, then by following my passion.

Plus, everyone in my sales office are going all over the world ... accept me. And whether they get the deals or not it seems.

If I get the deals I'm hoping for in May ... I'll be coming. If I don't get the deals, I may still come as a trip like this is long overdue.

I will confirm with you all either way by the end of May. I have passport, can travel and have been pricing things out. Though I'd be happy to pitch a tent on the Beach, I think I will probably need to splurge for more.

Thank you for making room for me ... I will be trying hard for this and will keep you posted. Now, back to work ...

Jeff

No need to be jealous, Cathy ... just start thinking about packing your bags. Its not too late.

It is looking like the flight will be a big part of the expense for me. Accommodation is looking quite reasonable and still lots available.

The more I look at this the more likely it is becoming.
