anybody else have that shrill bright sounding d and d# 3rd ocatve up when played fairly hard? Ive tried everything to get rid of it and its still there even when I make piano as soft as can be. Might just be the sample that we are stuck with? Just nit picking.

If you mean the D# below the middle C, I had the same problem with it. I resolved the problem by creating an edited .nki file, where I remapped a couple offending keys to their neighbours (full Kontakt allows editing the .nki files of unlocked pianos like Vintage). I can upload the edited file somewhere when I get home, if you are interested.

People differ a lot in what they regard as normal variation in sound and what they find obtrusive.

I have experienced a couple times that someone found a key unacceptable and then someone else came and found the key perfectly Ok, but a completely different key unacceptable.

Anyway - here here is the .nki I use, it has D#3 remapped from D3 and C5 from C#5 (all numbered so that C4=middle C).

well it would be the D and D# 3 octaves up from middle C. Try it out and see how it sounds hit it pretty hard maybe f or ff. It could just be my monitors.

I tried it and didn't hear anything strange. Do you hear it in headphones too?
