I have a Roland KF-90 digital piano. It is set up not too far from an air conditioner vent and I have noticed lately that I am having trouble with some of my notes. Where they need to be damped some are not damping and I am wondering if what I have is a problem with dust interfering with my keyboard action. I plan to use a vacuum on the surface of the keys as well as a can of compressed air to try to blow out any dust that is down inside the keyboard mechanism. I would appreciate any advice.

Unplug the keyboard first for a day. This allows most of the voltage to disperse from the capacitors. Also prevents accidental shock if you spray liquid propellent out of the can. Flip the keyboard upside down and set it on a couple pillows that are out to the side. This will allow you to work from underneath. Often the problem with blowing air into these right side up is that it just blows around the dust and it gets deeper into the electronics near the back of the keys; being upside down also allows much of the dust which settle to come out of the system rather than settle back into it. It is also less likely to accidentally spray any of the really cold liquid from the can, if it should happen to tip too much when its right side up.

Thank you so much! The compressed air seems to have done the trick and it sounds more like its old self.

Not exactly.
I don't believe there are many repair technicians in that forum and its title does not specifically list "posting of technical questions" like this one does ...there are on the other hand several piano techs who dabble in DP/organ repairs (like myself)in this one who don't mind sharing info.
