I don't have a problem with the octave. However, I have an observation. I don't recognize any of these melodies as hymns or chorales I'm familiar with. Some of the melodies you've harmonized don't seem particularly singable nor memorable. I've harmonized my share of hymns and they usually have distinctive melodies with either rhythmic or melodic "hooks" that are easy for congregants to remember. They also have definite phrases and cadences. Just curious where these melodies came from?

They don't come from anywhere - they are my melodies. The idea is to focus not so much on the melody lines themselves as on the contrapuntal texture.
