Hey everyone!

I am currently working my way through Chopin's 24 etudes and have arrived at Op.25 No.3. I am not entirely sure about how to approach it and what ways there may be to learn it more effectively. However, it has come to my attention that there is hardly anywhere on the internet that can help!

I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me!

Thank you all very much,

Lewis smile

We get this type of question a lot ("Advice on how to learn X?") but the information provided, or lack thereof, is so general that we can't really give you specific feedback. What part of the piece specifically are you having trouble learning? What aspects of that passage are proving difficult for you?

Hello,

Thank you for getting back to me. I have literally just started to look at it today! I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to approach it really. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve left hand accuracy?

Lewis

Practice it in different combinations of block chords. For example, FA-FC-FA-FC-FA-FC, CA-FF-CA-FF-CA-FF, CFA-F-CFA-F-CFA-F, etc.

Lewis, you're not going to like this answer, but learning a Chopin etude will give you the technique needed to learn a Chopin etude. Learning op.25, no.3 will improve your accuracy.

Like many other Chopin etudes, this one will test your ability to keep your hands relaxed as you do repetitive motions. The most efficient motions will feel more rotary and fluid in nature, and this way you will be able to play the etude without strain.
