OP EP 500 Post Club Member Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 733 Rocky Mountains, USA	Just got my MP11 from Kraft Music, after selling my VPC1. I'm finding the action much more to my liking, more consistent from the front to the back of the key, presumably thanks to the longer key fulcrum length. Well worth the effort and cost of making the trade, IMHOP. Here's my setup.

I would have given this one a good consideration if it had been available when I was shopping around. Schimmel Upright Kawai VPC-1 with Pianoteq Any issues or concerns are piped to /dev/null

The weight in the front of the keys is not that much different, but in the back, towards the "fallboard", it is considerable. This, to me, is more like a grand piano. I had an MP8 before, but didn't care that much for the action, ditto the VPC1. This one's a keeper for me. I have to admit I like the simplicity of the complete unit as well, i.e. no computer. BTW the top is a custom table-top I had made for my MP8. The speakers are just underneath it, behind the keyboard. The bench is a Jansen Artist bench. The music stand is something I put together to sit on top (sorry, doesn't really show in the pic).

newbies Full Member N Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 22	Nice setup! I want to get a vpc1 and stick it under my TV and share the sound system/computer, but I don't know if it'll look good. It's tempting to get the mp11 and set it up somewhere else, but Idk if I have room for it anywhere else.

Last time I was in a shop I was comparing a CA15 (RM3II) with a CA95 (GF). The GF action is probably the most even action from front of key to back that I've experienced on a digital and coming off a P-35 at home (which is very uneven) that felt really nice. The RM3II action is not as good in that regard but in every other aspect (weight, resistance, key surface, bottoming out) I preferred it to the GF action. I recently went for a MP10 over the 11 for these reasons. RM3 seemed more realistic to me in all the areas other than the pivot point. I had to compromise on that.

Well, like everybody says, action preferences are really individual. Probably has a lot to do with what you're used to as well. Obviously a lot of people prefer the VPC1 action, others (myself included) the GF action in the MP11. Fortunately there are lots of choices, the difficulty for us as consumers is it's really hard to know because it's hard to find the instruments to try out, unless you are in a place where they are available.
