At Notes and Sound, my new blog, I'll be writing short pieces about the piano, jazz, and improvising.

Post #1 went up today with unfortunate news about the passing of Little Jimmy Scott - one of the great jazz vocalists who's not as well known as many others - and also some observations about Charlie Parker and Confirmation.

Meanwhile my "other" blog, The Improvised Line, is still up and running and staying put right where it is. It'll have longer pieces with interviews with pianists and essays about all things piano, jazz, and improvising. A post went up today with stuff about Jaki Byard, tone, clusters, Henry Cowell, and being an artist.
