This post reminds me of the difference between the current use of social media and the past. I see pictures on Facebook of other people's meals as if I actually care about what they're about to eat. FYI, I don't, so I skip past them. It astounds me that some people think I want to know every little inconsequential thought they may have. My internal mental life is sufficiently rich, thank you. It strikes me as an exercise in ego for anyone to post sketches here as if they're something worth sharing. If they're not good enough for you why would you think we'd find them worthwhile? Yes, I saw the emoticon and the disclaimer "enjoy or not."

We've been hearing a lot lately about net neutrality. It's posts like this that make me think perhaps net neutrality is a bad idea. People might be more restrained in what they share if they had to pay for the right to post it. Okay enough venting. As for the music here, there's not enough substance to comment on.

My apologies, for snide remarks, it's been a suboptimal morning. However, I'll leave them because they're as worthy of consideration as anything else here.

It is very strange: I am away for many months, decide to return, and find that activity here is much reduced. I'll be commenting on the Three Fragments and the missed compositions from Polyphonist in due course, some of which have no response at all as if it is thought that he just wanted to see them framed by the pianoworld background - this is something that must be discouraging and depressing for a composer who shares some of his work here. I just don't have time right now to get my thoughts in order about the compositions and the varied musical associations which they evoke.

Due to the impressions received through one of Polyphonist's recent works I should have guessed that there might a Godowsky recording by Polyphonist in the Members Recordings section which I had missed.

Steve: I hope that you feel better soon and that whatever it is soon shall pass.

Oh, many reasons. For example, when I posted a sketch here and passed it off as a polished composition, everybody liked it. Now, when I tell you it's a lower quality piece, you suddenly realize that, and begin insulting it.

I am about to post another piece, and would like to request that you not flood its thread with rants. Thank you. smile
