Does anyone have any experience with an older model PianoDisc player? This is my first exposure to one. I have a client with a PDS128. When inserting the 3.5" diskette, the unit spins up, tries to read the diskette and then gives a message that the diskette contains no data and needs to be formatted. I am certain that is not the case since it happens with all 10 diskettes that I tried. Any thoughts? Thanks

Don

It's tough working with floppy disks since most computers don't have them anymore. If you can find one, however, first try to see if there is information on them. I recall that it's possible to erase them by having them stored near a magnet or speaker.

It's possible dust has gotten into the drive itself and may just need a bit of cleaning out. You can try blowing in it or maybe using some of that can air.

Maybe buy this external drive for $10 and hook it up to your computer to see if there is actually any data on the disk. Or maybe use this to transfer data to a new floppy disk if the data is good. Just a thought.

Edit: I actually have an external USB 3.5" floppy disk drive that you can have. Haven't used it 10 years! PM me if you want me to mail it to you.
