Haven't played much with the electric piano patches on my ES7 so it is only now that I noticed it. It is not possible to catch released notes with the sustain pedal. I am sure that's a bug/regression since on my previous Kawai pianos the re-pedaling worked for electric pianos too.
What I am describing is this: press a key, release it and very shortly after that press the sustain. On a real Rhodes it is possible to catch the (already muted but still vibrating) tine with the pedal and with no apparent loss of sound, similarly to an acoustic piano. On the ES7 the sound is dropped.
I am sure many pure digital piano players don't even know why this would be a problem and will most probably underestate it but please, this is very nasty bug. James, please, could you discuss it with the engineering team?
P.S. Another way of reproducing it is to press the sustain pedal, then press and release a key, then swiftly release and press again the sustain. Expected behavior is: the note should keep sounding possibly with a slight volume decrease.
