CP4 Stage already released. So no CP400.

Maybe a Motif XF successor.

GHS upgraded in MOXF8 - quieter keys now. GHS used to be much noiser.

I was implying the CP400 would be a successor to the CP300, not to the CP4 or CP40. Perhaps I should have called it a CP350.

I dont believe Yamaha changed the mechanics to the GHS in the MOXF8. Maybe it is quieter due to the design of the body and key bed. I have not played one so I probably shouldn't comment.

Even if they do announce a new series, it still might take to 2015 to actually get one.

Going off at a different tangent to everyone else:
An update to the Roland C30 - it's 6 years old now.
(I suspect this needs to wait a few more years still)

That's true.

The U1TA was announced back in January, and despite the fact that Yamaha stated on their website that it would be available by April................

That U1TA looks very interesting, but I still don't think I would want to be one the first owners of this new line. I have a funny feeling that there might be a few potential "matters" that might pop up post purchase. Plus im not exactly liquid for a $16,000 experiment.

Here are the details for the Casio Meetup the day after Summer NAMM's "public day". Anyone else planning on going?

Yes:

Every DP that we own is going to be rendered obsolete by its maker, who will bring out a new model _just enough better_ to make us unhappy with what we own now.

PS -- I allow for bennevis as an exception, unless Roland brings out a V-Piano 2.<g>

Huh? I think every manufacturer will come out with new models, and will claim (or will seem to claim) that the new pianos are better than anything that came before. Of course, they won't explicitly make that (or any) claim. And the reality will be that the new units will be the old units ... with 1 or 10 added to the old model numbers, with re-styled cabinetry, with new buzz words and acronyms ... and maybe some snazzy tail fins. [Linked Image]

Aside from the pizzazz ... they'll be the same old same old.

With your theory, I guess this would be the "new" Yamaha CP350 grin

Wow, the new CP350 looks great. I wonder if Yamaha will also make a convertible version with a turbo engine..... No, wait; a gas/electric hybrid with a real grand piano action. grin

Hahaha. Maybe not, but I don't think they can patent the color red. smile Korg and Casio have released some red pianos over the years too, probably some others as well. Though I wonder if that's smart marketing. If you're in an audience and you see a red keyboard on stage from a distance, might one not just assume it's a nord? Well, probably most audience members don't know nord from nordstrom's, so maybe it's not really an issue.

Warm Regards

I wouldn't mind a CP350. With NWx, the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial !!

I googled it this morning... Casio has some new sampling keyboards, but they look pretty low end. And Mogami, the cable manufacturer, has a dedicated "keyboard" cable. Not entirely sure what that means other than 90 degree ends (which wouldn't work on all keyboards), but it would be odd if it didn't come in a stereo pair.

Nothing new. But pretty decent paint-job/graphics on the VPC1. Not sure what the stand is, but looks cool all together (Also, check out the red VPC1 to the right at 0:36 - awesome!)
