More pictures of EPP2014.

Our restaurant, Duetos da Sé, was perfect for our party. Carlos LaLa (the owner) and his team were awesome! This is a mandatory site visit in Lisbon just inside the historical neighborhood "Alfama", where Fado was born. Good food, good atmosphere, good people, perfect place.
Thanks!!!!

About the mugs, I did an order to a friend of mine. Those were especially designed for EPP2014:

There are some specialized stores here in Lisbon, where you can print anything in you want in a mug.

But I'm sure you can find this and other great products/gifts in PianoSupplies.com website. Or just ask to Mr. PianoWorld (Frank B.)

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

I don't often post here but I was so excited by this thread that I had to say something.

Congratulations Carlos and all the participants on what looks like a fantastic event! I am enjoying the photos. Please keep them coming.

I was all ready to post my EPP pics this morning, but saw Chris beat me to it. Mine are similar of course, but Chris's are better quality. So just one to add, near where we had a nice light meal last evening. There was great food throughout the EPP, so it was very light.

You pegged this one, Jim. It's been first rate, red carpet treatment all the way. Personal airport shuttles, gift bags for all ... it goes on and on.

This will be a tough one to top. Thank you very kindly, Carlos and Ana for your very generous hospitality and a fabulous time. As I mentioned, you have free accommodation in Toronto anytime. Perhaps the next IPP (International Piano Party - Concept to be discussed and date determined).

Wow, great pictures and stories everyone!
Love the mugs :-)

Our thanks to Carlos & Ana for all their hard work putting this together.
Kathy and I would have loved to have been there, hopefully the next time.

And thank you to everyone who made the trip to attend the party and make it a success.

Well, I see it *did* happen wink Great pictures, and I bet the piano playing was way fun! Looks like it was a good follow-on to Saranoya's hosting last year. ABF rocks!

Hi Frank.
In fact you were there too. You were the 1st pianist to play at our party, remember? wink
Btw, your piece was just beautiful. We loved it. thumb
Thank you!

Hi all,

I'm back in Nürnberg, Germany.
Travel home went smoothly. Apparently the city of Lisbon was sad that the EPP2014 was over; this morning, the skies were weeping. wink

Great event; unfortunately the photos I took are not great. So, no photos from me. frown
And maybe just 2 days was not enough to enjoy Lisbon touristically.

But some people already made a good suggestion: From now on, every first July weekend, a European Piano Party. If it works, maybe next time I'll try to stay 3 days instead of 2.

Thanks especially to Carlos for the great organization. And thanks to all the participants who made it happen.
So, see you hopefully next year.

Patrick

I think we said last year that the next one after this was going to be Milan? laugh

Oh Whizbang....Holland winning is nothing to be jealous about... smile

It appears you all had a wonderful time. Hope you all enjoyed it. Carlos appears to be a wonderful host.

BTW: Carlos....that restaurant... are those walls cut from limestone or some rock? Or is that just very old cement? Hard to tell in the photographs. Tons of character to the restaurant.

That was the original plan.
However, casinitaly mentioned something important: Next year is Expo in Milan. So maybe it will be hard to find locations.

So right now the race for the location of the EPP 2015 is a contest between Switzerland and Italy.

Thanks rnaple!
The restaurant is near to the old city walls. I think they are a mix of stone and cement. They are really, really old.

This looks like a fabulous event. Do we have recordings of the music as well and the laughter and the talk? Nice job Carlos...you're opening new horizons for piano party planning.

I would like to say a big thank you to Carlos and Ana for their warm hospitality and all the work they did to make this an absolutely fabulous party! I had a wonderful time and enjoyed meeting everyone. Everything came off perfectly, and the piano was a joy to play.

I can't wait until our next get together, either in Italy or here in Switzerland!
