You are not a 100% AP guy.

Your sounds are, say, 60% to 70% APs, the rest is EPs, strings, synth pads, etc.

How important are the PB and Mod wheels (or joystick, etc) for you?

Two categories here, I think. Probably more, but it`s Sunday morning.

1 Those who use auto accompaniment and require buttons to knock off part of the backing when desired, and bring it back in again as in Ibiza Club stuff, or for general song construction, maybe as accompaniment to a singer

2 Those who like to play the individual parts and record them side by side as an ensemble.

There`s something good about a piano that has no such embellishments or other instruments. All you have is the music. . . that should be enough but - it never is!

Speaking as a microKorg XL+ user:

. . . I don't use the pitch wheel, but the "mod" wheel is invaluable.

For EP's, organs, and other sounds, the amount of modulation is really important. And it's up to the player to figure out what sounds _right_.

Also, on the microKorg (and probably other keyboards), the "mod" wheel is used to adjust other characteristics of the sound -- e.g. distortion, or brightness, or some filter parameter. So you'll have your fingers on it often.
