Is there a notebook that can be used for software pianos like Ivory without adding external interfaces?

If not, which one can you recommend with good sound quality for listening piano.

May be some apple product?

Thank you in advance

Great question. I'd think a PC NOTEBOOK with current SSD internal drive, honking big and fast memory, and a state of the art sound card would be as good as ANY big pc (or mac) computer.

Does that exist in a pc (or mac) notebook form?

No pops and clicks?

Caviat: I'm pretty certain you'll have to purchase an external (usb 3 compatible) 256gig ssd for plenty of good piano samples.

So Notebook PLUS external ssd for the samples is my guess.

Any good stuff cheap online???

No SSD needed. No honking laptop needed, either.

I ran fine (but just barely) with a 1.7 GHz Core Duo, 2 GB RAM, 330 GB 7200 RPM drive, and Windows XP.

There are no computers that slow anymore. So any new box will do, with room to spare.

I'm running Pianoteq (which has very moderate CPU-speed requirements) on an Acer Aspire laptop.

CPU : Intel core i5, 2.6 GHz
Memory (RAM): 6 Gbytes
O/S : Windows 8.1

I found that the internal soundcard gave me good results. There's no discernable latency.

If you're willing to use Pianoteq, that's all you need. I suspect the sample-players need faster storage.

Computer between 2.4 - 3,6 ghz, 4gb ram and a good soundcard like Realtek, Nvidia, Creative would do it.

Large sample libraries load very quickly with an SSD drive. My new MacBook Pro boots Ivory American D (48 gigs) in under 5 seconds.
