Hi, to keep it short - does anyone have a bag or a case for mp11? I can't find anything on the internet, that would be big enough for it. It seems the main problem is the height (7,5" ~ 19cm).
If a stage piano this heavy doesn't have a recommended case, it's not a stage piano. Thanks.

Hi. I am using a bag called Rockbag RB 21630 B.
I also have a Semi rigid case from a Spanish company called Ortola. The case has wheels but weighs 12 kilos.
Also check out Gator 88 XL.
There is also a company called Soundbag.
There are others but you need to google them.
These bags have a foam lining inside, so, for example, buying a 16 cm height may also accomodate a 19 cm height and so on.

Googling 'Kawai MP11 flight case' provides a handful of options in the US and Europe. It may also be worth contacting Kawai America or Kawai Europe directly as they may have recommendations for suitably-size cases.

Kind regards,
James

I received a case with my bundle purchase, I believe it was this one:
http://www.kraftmusic.com/gator-cases-gk-88-xl-keyboard-case.html

Fits perfectly in there.

Rockbag seems ok, but it doesn't have wheels. Since I will move it around by myself, I'd like to have them.
That Gator looks like something I want, but it has only 15cm interior height.
Ortola - I don't speak spanish at all. Thomman has cases by them only for wind instruments and I cannot find their products elsewhere. Their e-shop doesn't show prices. Do they ship to other countries?
Soundbag - I'm sorry, I didn't find anything.

What do you mean by accomodating 19cm to 16cm case? I don't want to remove the internal foams from cases. Or do you mean, that the foam would just squeeze? 3cm seems a lot to squeeze. Also it would put a lot of pressure on the knobs, wouldn't it?

Anyway, thanks for your reply.

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but are you sure? As I said, it's internal height is smaller by 4 cm...

If you are in Europe, which it sounds like you are, maybe give Soundwear bags a shot. They don't have a US distributor, so I'd have to order direct from them in Germany. I think the quality is better then Gator/SKB. I believe the European distributor is Thomann.

I've had immediate response from Anke at Soundwear when inquiring about specific keyboard bag sizing for both the CP5 & 4. Make sure you look or ask for the "professional" series :

They are more expensive then Gator/SKB but I think the fit is better, you don't have all that extra room, specifically in the length. And again they seem to be generally made with higher quality materials.

I bought it from Kraft as a bundle, and this is the bundle they offer now. I used the case to move this past May and it fit just fine. So unless they changed the case they offer in their bundle (I won't be home to check the actual bag until next week) I'm fairly certain this is the bag, and I know that bag I got fit.

My Rockbag is already tearing at the corner after 3 weeks of use with my MP11.

Must be just this particular bag.

I have another smaller one that I bought for a Roland keyboard in 1998 and which I used briefly for my temporary Kawai MP7 ( perfect fit ) . That one is as good as new after years of schlepping. Oh well......

I have emailed Thomann and attached pictures of the damaged bag.

Hoping to hear from them in the coming days.

Maybe a bag is not as much for a piano heavier like the Mp11.

Hard case are the only reliable solution.
I bought a soundwear bag for my Rd 800 and it' seems ok.

You're probably right.
I have a case with wheels. But this Rockbag was made for big keyboards.
They are normally very strong, reliable and well padded.
It is easier for me to just carry the MP11 in my arms with the Rockbag.
Especially when loading it into the car.

How much does your Soundbag weigh?
My case weighs about 12 kilos.

I bought the stagebag 88xl.
I think it's less than 12 kg,but i don't know exactly.

This bag is good for my Rd800(21,5kg),but not to move a lot.
Just simple thing(putting in a car,little move..etc)

I t's not the soundwear bag quality,it's just because when a stage piano is too heavy a bag isn.t the best solution.
The MP11 needs a good case,a soundwear bag can't support easilly so much weight.

Are you saying that the Soundwear bag is not strong or solid?

Absolutly not!
I think the soundwear is one of the best bag available and m really happy with it.
The problem is just to consider what a bag is made for:
When a keyboard is too heavy,we can't expect the same properties than a hard case.

So if your question is about soundwear bag quality, honestly m happy with it.
But i wouldn't have bought it for a MP11:
I think a hard case is the only solution for it.

Of course, a hard case makes the whole thing heavier, and if lugging the mp11 around is tough enough, adding more weight might not be a good idea. I have a hard case for my FP 7 and that is really difficult for me to lift in the case. Lifting the MP11 at all is not even possible on my own, let alone adding a hard case. But definitely if you can manage with the hard case, you can afford to be a little more rough with it and just wheel it everywhere, even up stairs.

I'm going to order the Soundwear bag anyway.

Like I pointed out, I have a Semi-rigid case which adds 12 kilos to the weight of the MP11. That makes a total weight of 44.5 kilos.

It's a killer when lifiting it into the tailgate of my car.
And the wheels are placed behind the case, rather than slightly under the case. Which requires one to lift the handle much higher when dragging it around.
