OK, maybe I just didn't have enough caffeine this morning and feeling not as chipper, but what gets me is that ordinary folks out there must think playing the piano is really easy, no harder than shucking claims, which is also not easy, but not that hard. How about some respect, please. If the pianist has to shuck clams, then it would only be fair if the owner is willing to play the piano in front of his patrons as well.

Im just glad to see that someone wants a piano player. Here in orange county you see nothing of that sort, unless you walk into Nordstrom. But even the Nordstrom here has gotten rid of their piano and placed a couch there instead.

Forget it guys. Take it from someone who inquires about many of these signs, they usually want you to play for tips. Although, they may have to pay minimum wage for the clam part of your shift. wink

I think the article mentions this, but shucking clams has got to be one of the worst possible pursuits for a piano player. The chance of hurting your hands is sky-high if you do it a lot.
