E.J. Buck & Sons
Lowell, MA

This performance will be the culmination-and a reflection-of Noah's 13 years of classical and jazz piano study, in which he has delved deeply into both genres. The evening's eclectic repertoire will feature repertoire drawn from four centuries of musical invention, including works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Gabriel Fauré, and will segue into more recent "classics" by virtuoso Oscar Peterson and other jazz masters. Special guest Paul Dykstra will also join him for a two-piano treat. There really is something for all musical tastes at this unique evening's entertainment!

Noah Landis,
Currently 18 years old, a graduate of Berwick Academy in South Berwick, Maine, has studied classical piano for thirteen years. A student of Paul Dykstra, he has performed and competed regionally, receiving honors in the Crescendo International, Granite State and Kenneth A. Darrell competitions. He achieved First Class Honors with Distinction in the Royal Conservatory Canada) Grade 10 piano examination, he has coached piano students as the intern at the annual Rye Summer Piano Intensive in Rye, New Hampshire for the past two years.
Noah discovered the jazz world from seacoast musician and instructor Kent Allyn seven years ago. Since then, he has been selected three times for the Maine Jazz All-State Festival and performed this year in the festival's Honors Jazz Band. As a senior in high school, he was the pianist for the New England Conservatory’s Youth Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece big band based in Boston, Massachusetts. Through a scholarship from the Young Organist Collaborative, Noah was able to study pipe organ for two years with David Wold, and he plays at churches throughout the Seacoast region of southern Maine and New Hampshire. In addition to being the Assistant Music Director for productions of Les Misérables and Guys & Dolls at Berwick Academy, he has accompanied both the school’s choruses and the Granite State Choral Society. He recently provided an innovative jazz accompaniment for internationally acclaimed poet Naomi Shihab Nye as part of a reading during her residency at the Academy. He will attend Northwestern University next fall.
