Right now I'm being inspired by the likes of Robert Glasper, Esbjorn Svensson trio, Vince Guaraldi, Herbie Hancock and Snarky Puppy. They are on a regular rotation. What is inspiring you today?

Bill Evans, Lyle Mays, Eddie Palmieri, Anat Fort.

And that's just the non-classical! Not enough hours in the day!

Have you checked out Brad Mehldau's collaboration with Mark Guiliana? He's gone off into electronic realms. Pretty interesting.

When I am working I sometimes play a game on YouTube I like to call musical chimborazo....find an artist you like and listen to something you've not heard from them before. Then pick another tune from the list on the right by an artist you don't know and so on until you come full circle back to where you began. I've found so much good (and some not so good) music that way. =)

Hi there. Yes, I heard Brad and Mark playing a live gig in hamburg, germany last december. There were really great moments in that concert, full of energy. But still I prefer Brad playing the grand piano. His sound and articulation is a great inspiration for me.

Likewise. When I discovered Mehldau, it all changed for me...and made me realize that I have a LOT of work to do with my left hand dexterity.

Have any of you heard the Karel Boehlee Trio? Found her today on one of my random quests for new music today. Her style is really smooth. The way she rolls (not sure if this is the right term) into some of her chords reminds me a LOT of Vince Guaraldi.

Here's a link to some of her and her trio.

Her version of Baker Street is quite appealing.
