Summer is killing me here and I'm overheating while playing. Thanks to Kawai for such a thoughtful design. smile

Markarian, I'll pretend I haven't seen this picture...otherwise I may be required to add yet another entry to the 'safety instructions' pages warning users against connecting non-memory devices to the USB to Device port. Or perhaps even warning against the dangers of playing the instrument close to fans and other spinning objects.

You're right, of course, however I've seen quite a few Kawai DP owners opting to leave the sticker attached to the keyboard.

Cheers,
James

Kawai James,
Other than the physical danger of bumping into the spinning fan blades, is there a danger to the electronics or something? I would think that if the usb port follows the normal USB specs it shouldn't be an issue. Am I missing something? (Not trying to be snarky, I'm genuinely curious.) I could see a lot of people connecting one of those little usb lamps to make it easier to see stuff on a darkened stage. Could that damage the instrument?

Warm Regards

Relax everyone, its got little foam blades! KJ, it just runs off the standard 5v supplied by the port. Is that really going to damage the USB controller?

I moved mine to the upper portion of the key. What the heck ...

The MP11 USB to Device port has been tested and certified for 5V 500mA, so provided the device you are connecting also conforms to this standard, I don't believe any damage will be done.

Of course, we can never say never, but I think it's highly unlikely...

Cheers,
James

I bought some foam grip pads to put under my speakers. It prevents them from scratching the surface and also keeps them in place in case they inadvertently get bumped. Might help reduce buzzing vibrations too, but I wasn't having that issue.
