Just to be clear, manufacturers don't care whether it ruins a piano or not. They exist to sell pianos. If a player action sells yet another piano, then they are happy.
Tell me, does installing the action under discussion on a new instrument void the factory warranty? That would say a lot.
You and your wife will be able to tell a lot just by playing the piano yourselves, no matter what level you are at. The more you play, the more you'll find out.

You and your wife will be able to tell a lot just by playing the piano yourselves, no matter what level you are at. The more you play, the more you'll find out. I am not sure what you are saying. Those manufacturers are installing player pianos when they sell the piano and they are factory installed, so it would seem that the warranty is not voided. So, do you ever listen to the radio or go to a concert or listen to any type of music played by professionals. If you do, why do you? Can't you just appreciate your own music? We want to hear great music. We don't want to hear music only at our skill level. No one in my family is a professional piano player. I can ask you the same thing about your presumably rebuilt or at least restored piano. If your rebuilder took a brand new piano, and they rebuilt it, would the factory warranty become void. I imagine it would. What would it tell you?

I finally got the piano back. I got the speaker installed, and I am using the airport express as the source mechanism. The piano is great. The installer did quite a bit of regulation. He thought it hadn't been regulated since we bought it, which is probably true. My wife didn't like the feel the first day, but now loves the way it plays. It was different from before, so it just felt weird, but I guess the old way wasn't so good.
The player itself is great. We can play when we want. I just need to click on a few links, and away it goes.
The piano is mostly getting played by my wife and daughter who is almost 6. We use the player just for fun and background music.
Overall, it was a good choice.

By the way, I think you might be interested to hear Andre Mehmari, a young virtuoso brazilian pianist, with a very particular interpretation of Ernesto Nazareth. I hope you enjoy! Mehmari plays Nazareth
