Just so everyone knows, the intention of this Schumann Recital is not only to motivate us and perhaps stretch ourselves by choosing music that we may not otherwise pick in our right minds wink , but also to be exposed to the music of Schumann over his lifetime. I think we can really learn more about his musical style by hearing all levels of playing. Certainly, this is a composer who wrote great music for beginners and concert pianists alike.

I hope no one is intimidated/offended when they hear these amazingly difficult works. I don't think anyone is here to show off, so please don't take it that way when listening.

Hope that I can still do it justice and be a part of the experience. I've performed Op. 17 twice in my life, and I thoroughly enjoy it even when I biff a few notes in the March.

Morodiene.... I hope you and nobody else takes it personal that I will not participate. Knowing that there are at least a couple really doable pieces I could take on. I like them also. You even cause me, who knows nothing, to research and learn about Schumann. I find I really like him. Parts of him touch me deep. From experience with others in my life.
I'm in an extremely good System of learning. I can't waver off on a tangent at this time. I must remain focused in building my ability to play. For that matter, I should be spending less time online.

Hey, Morodienne,
I saw where you invited the Pianist Corner. How about inviting the Teachers and inviting the teachers to invite their students?

I for one am very excited to hear experienced and accomplished pianists as well as all the other levels. This gives me something to aspire to and keeps the motivation up as I wade through the bottom levels. smile
