Surprisingly, it quickly degenerated, not into a discussion over genes! but whether it is possible to communicate through music

Thanks for showing me that page as I did disclaim my post yesterday.
phantomFive: I am not surprised really. My view is simple: 1) Finally a positive report about pianists.
2) Gee, prospective students that visit my website would find this believable and cool...
3) Make more money from the help of the cool article.

I think there are a lot of ways to look at things phantom. this is how i see it.
some of the other views I found concerning.

Don't you remember the Mozart Effect? Briefly, money was made selling Mozart CD's to parents to play over cribs. Judging from the appalling state of mainland American scholarship, both general and musical, not enough money was made.

I suppose this schtick could make piano lessons more saleable to parents who wish to improve their children's brains. Might work in South Korea, not here.

Rutgers edu website says that over 2 million copies were sold. That's more than Double Platinum! Nice. Not to mention all the listeners who shared it with someone.

Genes aren't even mentioned in the article. Communication is.

I think the real issue is the drugs and alcohol.
