Hi guys,

I recently bought an NP31 - very happy with weight and piano sounds, which is the perfect combination for my intended use as a lightweight travel piano / fun to play second piano to my cabinet Kawai.

I wanted to check if anyone has had any experience with the on board speakers. At volumes above 50%, my right speaker buzzes and vibrates.

I've checked the usual suspects with speaker buzz - resonant pitch / playing surface / different samples / tightening screws, but the buzz is still there on any loud notes. The left speaker also does the same, but less often. Is this simply because the speakers are relatively small on this dp? No problem through headphones - I like the on board samples which I think are very high quality for the price.

I'm wondering if over 50% is simply too loud without using an amp, so maybe if I sent this back the same would still happen on a replacement unit. It's a great portable dp, which I definitely want to keep.

Thanks as always.

Have you tried playing around with EQ and see if you can isolate the frequencies that are causing the buzz?

Another option is bypass the onboard speakers and use monitors or amp and speakers instead (or keep the on-board speakers at the below 50%).
