To sign up, hit the quote button of the most recent" list in this thread, remove the quote in brackets at the beginning and end, and put your new selection & name in bold.

Note: I have tried to separate out multi-movement works where possible, so you could sign up for just one movement in a sonata. However, due to the large volume of music we have, if you wish to sign up for an entire Opus you may, as long as another person doesn't want to do a movement from that Opus.

I just put Op. 124 no. 16 back on the shelf. I would like to take something else but I will wait until sometime in the fall to decide.

I am surprised that the remainder of the Forest Scenes Op. 82 haven't been snapped up! Technically it is not a difficult set, and I recommend them to anyone still thinking of joining in here.

I've been thinking about snapping up some things since day one. You are right that with most of Schumann's piano music there is no technical challenge and that the Waldenszenen Op. 82 set may be under-appreciated. For various reasons I hesitate to commit but I continue to think about it.

Remember, the deadline isn't until March 15, so LOTS of time. You can commit and start later if you wish, or wait until later to commit and pick form what's available then.

I really like a lot of the Forest Scenes and hope that someone can take them up.

I would like to take the unclaimed pieces from Op. 15. My instructor suggested that I start work in this set, and there's nothing like a goal to motivate!

If I'm reading the chart above clearly, this means Op. 15, #s 2, 3, 8, 9 and 11.

Thanks!

To sign up, hit the quote button of the most recent" list in this thread, remove the quote in brackets at the beginning and end, and put your new selection & name in bold.

Note: I have tried to separate out multi-movement works where possible, so you could sign up for just one movement in a sonata. Your idea of easyish peterws is vastly different to minesmile

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

Bet it's not! These recitals have done my head in yet I keep coming back for more. Because they done my head in. . .

I spent a ton of time working on mine since day one so I could be sure I could play it. I got it to rough play through status (memorized and 85% tempo). Worked out some ideas on how I will interpret it too. I then set it aside a few weeks ago. It's quite difficult and there's some awkwardness in some parts...I feel like it is bothering my weak hand so I will get back to it after the suites recital. Unfortunately I got sucked into another Brahms piece and it's threatening to derail everything...

There's a waltz in Op. 124 (No. 15?) that is just one page and quite charming. I don't know the level but it seems approachable if anyone is interested.

I'm focusing on some Debussy pieces for the Suites recital that I recently signed up for after changing my mind on what to do. I had worked on the Op 23/3 and I have a good grasp of what needs to be done. It's very doable, I think.

The 111/2 will be more of an interpretative work, although the fast middle section will require most of the time to get it up to tempo.

The WoO 31 Etudes may not quite happen. I think they're quite a bit beyond me, but we'll see. smile

I have too many pieces in my kitchen at the moment, so I haven't touched my piece for the recital yet.
In a few weeks, when I restart lessons I hope to get a pass fot a couple and so to free some time for it.
It's op. 68 n. 28 (Erinnerung), I choose it because in June the teacher had put it in a list of pieces to pick from during the holiday. I had also the easier op. 68 n.18, but it was already taken...
I know it will be a difficult task for me, but the due-date seems so far at the moment.

I picked four pieces. The first, Des Abends, I'd already analysed and memorised (as music) and was about to start learning it when the recital was announced so it was very convenient though I've only played 12 measures so far, the last four and the first eight but not more than four bars together yet. I'm still working on the fingering, phrasing and dynamics and I've still only memorised M1-4 soundly right now.

I chose No. 17, Wie Aus der Ferne, from the Davidsbuendler dances that I was going to try much later but I brought it forward because of the recital and having received my Henle edition of the score proceeded to read through them all and picked the two before it as well so I'm doing 15, 16 and 17.

I've started the second half of 17, only eight bars but I haven't memorised them yet. I've done nothing more than the initial read through on 15 and 16 other than reading them silently at my desk. I'm still analysing those.

I've been taking it easy with the Schumann as I'm struggling more than I expected with my selection for the next ABF recital but once I've knocked that into place I'll be back to Schumann with more intensity.
