Wonder if it sounds and feels as good as it looks?

(We all know this is not always the case, and not just
in the piano world!)

Well, it "looks" GORGEOUS. In fact, it's only a two hour drive from my house. If I had nothing else going on in my life I could swing down there and give it an "audition."

So it would take about 90% of my living room but boy wouldn't it be fun to own, or even just try it out. My neighbors would "love" it. A beauty thanks for sharing.

I'm curious. Is there something special about an ad for a fine piano? Petrofs aren't exactly rare.

I am so relieved to read that only classical music has ever been played on it. Whew! ;-)

In Tucson, AZ, Petrofs are most certainly rare!!

You are in NY right? Have you visited Harrison Faust, Beethoven Pianos, Allegro Pianos or Klavierhaus? If not, you are in for a treat. Do yourself a favor and visit them. You don't have to buy there (but you certainly can) but they have a lot of pianos which you might want to audition..

Why would Petrofs be rare anywhere? They are in current production and are available everywhere so far as I know.

Well - in the USA sometimes you need to travel to another state to audition and purchase a new Petrof. We used to have a dealer here in AZ that carried the Petrof and Weinbach brands for many years....but no more.

Sometimes there are up to 4 or 5 concert petrof's for sale in LA. Right now there's only one on CL but it's a beaut.

Many years back, we went to a home and garden show at the LA convention center. To our surprise, sitting smack in the middle of the arena was a dealer display with a Petrof grand, front and center with full lid up. That Petrof was the first concert grand I ever played and of course, an audience gathered (wish my skills were at today's level). As I recall, the action was unlike anything I ever played before, smooth and fast. I'll never forget that day. Now that I think about it, I'm wondering where I got the guts to play that day!

Petrof has a model to satisfy any taste.

That one is perfect for spilling drinks onto the soundboard!!

I've never tried a Bosendorfer, but that certainly LOOKS like the
pinnacle of piano technology!

I like how they make the white keys black, so as to not confuse
the 88-key players! Actually, they should take a cue
from the Farfisa organ comp.:

Make the whites either black or grey, and make the sharps white!

This way, you retain visibility between sharps and naturals.

Grand pianos that aren't Yamaha or Kawai are fairly rare here in Alberta, Canada, but hey we are kind of in the "boonies". So I love seeing pics of other brands. Keep the pictures coming. Wonder what it is like to live in New York or other large centers and have a selection........

Since you live in Tucson perhaps you can drive up to Phoenix some weekend to try a couple of Bosies.
