Just heard on the news (BBC Radio 3) - pathologist's report from Warsaw. Perhaps now, poor old Fryderyk can rest in peace....... (Or maybe not, if some posters here have their way  )

Under what circumstances and what research has this "new" information come to light? Is it new? I thought we knew this all along.

Hold on a minute Polish medical experts say that the preserved heart of 19th century composer Frederic Chopin shows signs of tuberculosis and possibly some other lung disease. The findings seem to corroborate Chopin's 1849 death certificate which said that the Polish-born musician died at the age of 39 in Paris from TB. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory/experts-chopins-heart-shows-signs-tb-25562716He could have died from other lung disease!
