Hi,

Do you ever played a wooden keys digital piano??? Like:

Kawai CA65
Yamaha Clavinova 545

I guess are these better then plastic key pianos like CN24.
How much difference there is from plastic key, wooden key digital and acoustic (2000GPB Acoustic, not 5000 or more)

The wooden keys on the Kawai CA65/Ca95 is a different breed then on the CN series. It is not just the plastic vs wood. The
CA series has the long pivot point, more like a real grand piano. The CN series is not bad, but I would suggest you try the CA
series if you can. I have not got to try the new Yamaha's yet.

Considering there's no exposed wood it's more a marketing thing than one that affects playing. Modern acoustics even plastic coat their wood keys.

Wood does make sense for a long key since it's fairly strong for its weight and cost.

The design of Kawai wooden and plastic actions differs considerably (see here vs. here ). If similar design would be possible with plastics is anyone's guess. I believe that the most important qualities of wood with regards to the Kawai wooden actions is its strength, weight (necessary for inertia) and flexibility.

There is a new version of Kawai plastic actions utilised in a recently unveiled Kawai CN25 piano. It contains counterweights, which gives hope that this action could get closer in feeling to its wooden counterparts, at least regarding inertia (dynamic weight). There are no reports of forum members trying out the new action yet, so it's hard to guess how significant this improvement will be.

Regarding the contemporary actions like CN24 and CA65, IMHO the difference between them in feeling is considerable (I'm not saying that the CN24 doesn't have a nice action).

Thanks for reply. So CA better than CN24/34.

Today I read all thread I found on Kawai CN/CA and Yamaha Clavinova.

I found out Yamaha Clp 545 not good as like Clp 585 (have counterweights) and Kawai CA65/95

But I'm scared of issues on Kawai CA series. Then CA65 series seems to have some speaker issues.
But CLP585 is out of my budget.

But I'm no hurry. I'm wait for CN25/35
.........Do you know when Kaway will released CA6x/9x new series????
