Is it realistic to expect an upgrade of these models at winter NAMM?

It's been close to six years since these instruments were introduced, and considering that the Clavinovas now have the CFX and Bosendorfer samples, Yamaha might want to udpate the N2/3. On the other hand, it took them over a decade to upgrade/replace the Grantouch with the current AvantGrand.

Given the low product volumes sold, I don't see much incentive for updates to the AG models.

Thank you.

I suppose that if Yamaha had some competition in this area they might've updated -at least- the sample set.

The TransAcoustic costs mucho dinero, so we're stuck with the AvantGrand (not that that's a bad thing). I might give in and snatch me an N2. Enzo seems happy blending the onboard sound with pianoteq.

Yamaha just released a new promotion: "Test Drive a Hybrid."

Basically, if you go into a dealer and test out a hybrid, you get a code# for the opportunity to win an NU1.

They've posted a new video (I've never seen it on youtube) where they show a single key from the AvantGrand, basically identical to a real grand, and confirm that the actions for the AvantGrands are made at the same factory were their "regular" actions are made.
