Paleostudent - Before you make your decision, I suggest you try a Ritmuller GH160R and a GH170R. Ritmuller and Essex pianos are both made by Pearl River. The Essex and Ritmuller pianos sound much nicer than the equivalent-sized models in the Pearl River brand lineup. The Ritmuller may end up costing you less than the same sized Essex, because a Ritmuller may be discounted more than the Essex, ...being that new Essex models are sold by Steinway. Essex does have an advantage if you're interested in something other than polished ebony. The Ritmuller GH160R was available in several finishes, I'm not sure if they still are. My GH170R was only available in polished ebony. The Hailun is also an excellent choice. Go by sound and touch though! Best of Luck in your search! grin

I've decided on the Hailun 161..the dealer is going to have a tech adjust the touch, and I will play it again before I give final approval. So if it feels right, I have found my piano. smile

Happy new piano. Nice choice.

Let us know how how the final approval goes.
