Since the MP11 doesn't have a dedicated thread like the MP7 does, I'm starting one.

Ordered an MP11 locally for $2695AUD with a 5 year warranty. Very reasonable IMO, I remember the days when a Yamaha P80 cost over $3,500AUD.

Also ordering a K&M 18953 piano stand from thomann.de, I like how it has a wider base than the 18950, and it should be even more stable as it's not adjustable lengthwise.

I'm thinking of getting some speaker stands so I can position my Yamaha HS80M monitors, I think they'd be too big to sit on the instrument itself.

Anyway, should be collecting it mid November, I'll post pics of my setup then.

Congrats to both of you. wink

bubbamc119, I'm curious as to why you purchased the stand (good choice of brand by the way!) from Thomann.de - were you unable to find the same model in Australia? Don't you get stung on import duty or shipping fees?

I recommend speaker stands, certainly. You may be able to squeeze the speakers on top temporarily (I'm seen a few pics using such a setup), but it's not something I'd consider for the long term.

Cheers,
James

My MP11 should arrive tomorrow from Sweetwater. That is what the tracking number indicates. The JBL LSR305's arrived today. Everyone is very excited here! My husband is going to build the stand.

Yes thanks to PW. I made my decision based on the feedback here. Also thanks to Kawai James who never bashes other brands and provides advice to problems that people have faced. Seems like an extra layer of customer and technical support. I'm sure Kawai knows that some of us are buying without trying the keys out. Can't find them anywhere to try them.

My first DP will be a MP11!

Hi James,
K&M stands are hard to find here, and if you can the prices are high.

I couldn't find the 18953 anywhere here, and the 18950 is ~$350AUD with a 6 to 8 week lead time.

The 18953 from Thomann works out to about $210AUD (I haven't verified shipping yet so this may increase slightly), import duty is not applicable on anything less than $1000AUD.

My MP11 is also arriving from Sweetwater tomorrow...our DPs are obviously brothers and came over in the same container. However, this will be my third try -- the first 2 were lemons. I've never been so simultaneously excited and completely pessimistic at the same time. With the scarcity of this thing, this entire process has been going on for MONTHS...

A few more hours! We hope for the best. Maybe the delay is some extra work on them. I have waited 8 weeks.

Any idea on what speaker stands you'll get? Right now I have small monitors that sit on top, but if they were any larger I'd want them on stands, for sure.

The issues are detailed in a couple of other threads here...the first one had some minor dents on the back panel and also had a strong smell. The second one had bad action (all the black keys made a thud when released). How I wish I had just stuck with the first one. I can't even bear to think about what might be wrong with tomorrow's delivery...

Just a few words too about the very kind community here:
It´s a great pleasure to share our passion and differences with everybody.

All the topics and contribution certainely help me a lot.
Thanks for that.

back to the mp11:
I have to modify some things at home for it because it's the bigger stage piano available on the market.
I always put my stage piano under another keyboard on a double stand and my RTX stand won't fit(not enough place under for the MP11 width
I have to buy another double stand with enough space for it.
It seems the hercules ks410 is a good choice.

Another thing:
I'm essentially a live player.
So do you know a good flight case compatible?
I haven't receive it(tomorrow)but i don't know if my SKB hard case 88 will fit.
If not,do you know what flight case fit?

I'm waiting for my MP11 too. Although the seller warned me that I will receive it on last weeks of November, yesterday he call me to say that perhaps I will have it today or next monday.

I already have a JBL LSR305 pair of monitors and waiting for a K&M 18950 stand.

While I wait impatiently, this is what my facebook advertises to intrigue my friends:

I use these for my JBL LSR305s: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JTV358 (Ultimate Support JSMS70 Speaker Stand)

I am happy with them. They are height adjustable.

Any of you know if its possible to assign some fader/knob to expression MIDI data? I'm thinking to buy a Yamaha FC7 Expression Pedal (or any other you recomend me that works perfect with the Kawai Mp11), but while I'm waiting it will be great if there's a possibility to control MIDI expression on my DAW with any fader of the Kawai Mp11.
