Glad to hear a voice of reason came to you Sam. Be well soon and I'll keep you in my prayers for a quick recovery and strength to finish up your trek. Don't rush it either, the AT isn't going anywhere soon. grin

Clearly, home is the place to be right now that you are sick. Hope you are better soon! Hope the big arctic blast doesn't get that far south that it affects the rest of your adventure. Best wishes to you, Sam. Sure hope you are back on your feet soon.

Glad to hear you're on the mend and have some up time. Hope it's all gone by the weekend and the weather eases up for you.

Sam,

It is great to hear you are getting back on the trail, well-fed, and well-rested. Now we need a nice warm spell after this last arctic blast. thumb

Stay warm, Sam! I was reading about the next cold front online today and thinking of you. Hopefully it won't come too far south!

Brrr indeed! Glad to hear you are feeling better and back on the trail, but wishing the weather was a bit kinder for your return.
Less than 500 miles to go - everything is relative I guess, because I find myself thinking "only" 500 miles, and yet what a huge distance that is.
Jenny in Lazy Fox B&B sounds like exactly the sort of person you want to be running establishments along the trail, I'm glad she looked after you well when everything in town was closed.
Good luck Sam, stay warm and stay strong!

Sam,

Hoping Thanksgiving finds you safe and warm, with a nice meal and good company (be it with friends and family or with the trees and mountains on the trail). Also hoping that 8 days since your last update means you are busy putting on some miles through this last cold snap.

Stay safe.

Jim

Thanks for the good wishes. Survived the latest snowstorm. I'm in Erwin TN, over 1800 miles now, only 341.5 to go. Will update journal tomorrow.

Wow, Sam, with luck it looks like you'll be home for Christmas! I do hope it stays warmer for you these last few days - you deserve a great home stretch.

Soggy shoes must be a real pain. Glad you got your laundry done. Hope the pack isn't too heavy tomorrow. Eat more? It will be great to be on trails you know well.

So glad you're feeling better -and you're certainly going strong!
I've just caught up with your journal, from when you went home to recover from the tummy bug. I am beyond impressed with this endeavour of yours!

Go Sam Go!

Sam, I was impressed with you when you started this venture. But now, after seeing all those photos of you hiking 20 miles a day in the deep snow, I'm ready to nominate you for super-hero status. wow

Congratulations on your perseverance and stamina!

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement evryone. I'm at 2048 miles now with just 137.3 miles to go. Weather permitting I should be done in 8 more days, and can start playing piano again!
