I know nothing of how to use Midi.

Can, I create a Midi File on a Usb Stick and load/play that on my CA95?

Thanks
.

Yes, the CA95 support Standard MIDI File (see page 54 of the manual).

But... it will render only the instrument it knows about (or render the notes of a unkown instrument with a default one). If you take a random MIDI file, it will generaly use some instruments among the 128 General MIDI instruments. According to its specification, the CA95 implements only 80 instruments.

Thanks for the Info. This was too easy. I already downloaded a Mid File, and will head downstairs to play it. I would believe MIDI in itself can be very complex under the covers.

Thanks
.

MIDI in itself can be a bit complex, but if you get a sequencer like Anvil Studio (which is free if you use basic functions) you can create some MIDI file easily, just recording your playing. Adding multiple voices needs assigning different channels to each track (each channel having its own instrument), and recording a new track when listening other tracks... The main difficulty is about staying in rythm.
Afterward you just save the recording (Anvil Studio use MIDI as its native format... Other software may require the use of an "export in MIDI" function.)
You can also create a MIDI file directly on the CA95, but I don't if it is easy to create multiple tracks.

Jon asked: Can, I create a Midi File on a Usb Stick and load/play that on my CA95?

Marek says:
Play: Yes, you can play the midi files created by CA-95 and created by other instruments.
Load: No, you cannot load midi files into CA-95 even if the files were created by your piano. MP11 can do this, but CA-95 is unable to load midi files at all. It does not matter where these files were created.

Please read this thread

Wishing you all the best,
Marek
