I think this might be very tempting. The sale, lasting just a couple more days, appears to offer these (this?) EP/s at a very reduced cost. I've heard an earlier generation of Neo-soul keys library and I was most impressed by both the Rhodes and the Wurly but from what I've understood, the original library is several gigabytes so quite what Steinberg are offering here is a minor mystery unless it involves high sample compression - their much cheaper alternative is around half a gig. Also, I've no idea if this is a vst residing in a custom Steinberg player.
Whatever, it might be of interest to some EP addicts....

...some other deals there also...

- just spotted this trial version,

That's Neosoul Keys for Halion (Steinberg's ), which includes only the Mark I, not the full (UVI or Kontakt based) Neosoul Keys package

Yes, I downloaded the trial and there's no Wurly but the Rhodes is smokin' - like playing a musical drum! Steinberg have put this inside its own Halion player (as you noted) with some of their own amps and cabinets. I found the Kontakt version of neo-soul to be a bit floppy in timing and some of the trimmings very noisy.

Anyway, at just a notch over £30 I've snapped this up. The sale finishes tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Sorry for double-post, I just have a question.

I just bought the Neo-soul, and I have a licence. Let's say my mac goes bananas and I have to get a new computer, will I have to buy neo-soul again?

- I don't honestly know. I'm not even sure if you can transfer the soft elicenser by deactivating the license on your current hard drive and reactivating another - but I would assume so. If your mac/HD goes down then I guess you have to fall on the mercy of Steinberg.

If there's any chance you'll buy something else you might think it worth having Steinberg's dongle?

Apologies if my post tipped you into an impulse purchase! At least, you should enjoy the Rhodes!

Thanks for the reply. I'm using the soft-licencer for now. To be honest I'm not completely sure what the licencer thing is for? If I had the physical USB-stick, I'd have to bring it when I wanted to use neo-soul?

No apologies needed, I'm very happy you posted the thread, now I have a Rhodes sound no one else on my school have for just a few coins. I guess I'll buy their dongle if I want more of their software at a later time.

Can't wait to nerd this thang tomorrow. smile

- it's purely for anti-piracy. If you had the dongle, you would just leave it in the computer or pop it in as and when needed, and also allows you to use the Rhodes on any computer you plug it into...it basically gets round the crashed HDD problem (then again, you don't want to lose the dongle!).

I've not come across 'nerd' used as a verb before...nice!

(check out the 'diamond cabinet' on the 'amp & fx' tab, great sound, very Joe Sample).
