Loved it!!!

Something tells me I will be picking out pieces of this and trying to imitate them.

Love this tune. Nice creative arrangement. Have you heard Michel Petrucianni's version? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06_uCl_Bovs

Although he plays at a ridiculous tempo, if you slow it down, there are some great licks and ideas you can use

Thanks Martyn,

Glad you liked that.

And thanks for posting that link to Michel P which I've seen before and is fabulous and monstrous. I used to hear Michel P in the '80s w/trio at the Vanguard when he first arrived in NYC. He was and is one of the monsters and definitely reminds of us how good it can get!. There's a book of transcriptions I'd recommend to all interested in the details of Michel P's style: http://armand.reynaud.free.fr/petrucciani.html.

The version of Caravan I point to is

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Erflgkir2H4

with Ellington, Mingus, and Roach. They're seriously improvising on Caravan w/looseness, freedom, and authority that perhaps only that generation had.
