I have a Roland FP7F. I will probably never use it for performing, but the sound from the tiny speakers isn't cutting it for practice, so I want an amp.

Can someone recommend a good amp for this purpose? I don't need tons of power or a lot of weird digital effects. If it's loud enough for a living room, I'll be happy.

Roland KC-110 is a great bang for the buck.

Thanks for the reply. I can't help noticing that your name is Roland, but I still appreciate it.

TheloniousPunk,
I opened this thread to suggest the KC-110. There's a really good review of it from pianomanchuck (who frequents this forum and is not affiliated with roland) here:

Ya I'm a Roland guy.

The KC-110 is a killer little amp for your application though. That's the only reason I suggested it.

Thanks again. Now that I see what a little one costs, I am going to have a stiff drink and think it over.

Honestly, for a digital piano monitor speakers or a powered PA is the way to go instead of an amp. For the use you describe, you can probably even get away with a quality set of computer speakers. What's your budget? Knowing that we can better help you narrow down some selections.

A single Adam A7x is sufficient.

Pianos sound much better in stereo though. I'm all for a pair of powered monitors.

I was hoping to stay under $200. I have been told that bass amps work well for pianos, so I am thinking of sticking a piezo tweeter in one of my guitar cabinets and connecting it to a Bassman clone I built.
