well, Nord Electro series are not good at all for piano.
The feel is really inferior because of their bad keyboard touch, event the Nord Stages and Nord Pianos don't have a great touch for acoustic piano playing (poor Fatar actions !).
They also lack the half damper fonction which is primordial for the serious pianist (classical style mainly)

That is quite correct, Nord does not design/build their own keyboard actions. They use Fatar. Not unlike so many other digital instrument vendors. I was joking the other day in another conversation about how it's easier to name which brands don't use Fatar than the ones that do.

You'd also think that with all those orders coming in for keyboard actions, Fatar would be able to R&D some long key real wood actions with escapement. But that's going to depend on what we as consumers settle for and what will fit with this most recent light weight trend.

Hello and thanks again smile

Chewbacca, indeed the Kawai CA15 is not compact enough for me. Thanks for your feedback on the DP90Se wink

Thanks peterws for your advice. Of course I will come back here and write a comment after I would have purchased my new DP smile

I disagree. I think the feel is better than any of the other DPs.

As much as I love my Electro, the keyboard action is not very piano-like.
However, I believe the action provides a reasonably good compromise for playing piano, EP, and organ.

Cheers,

Some Electros have semi-weighted actions, where are pretty bad for piano. Some Electros--the HP models--have piano-style weighted actions. They are better (for piano), but they don't get too many raves either. They do allow the boards to be very lightweight, though.

Ah, that's a good point Scott.

@Michael Martinez, which Electro model are you referring to specifically?

Even the Nord Stage 88, weighted Fatar piano action, isn't good for classical music : it's too light (very hard to control dynamics), sluggish, doesn't repeat well, I had many lost notes when playing fast...
No half pedal feature totally disqualifies this keyboard.
While the free downloading of new piano sounds is a great option, I wasn't fond of their different acoustic piano sounds.
