I got it, but I ignored it. You and I might have the same sense of humor but controlling delivery of a sarcastic quip on the 'net is impossible.

I usually skip it now.... after several similar mistakes over the years.

Harpon, you may think you have a sense of humour, but forum rules state that you will not use rude, vulgar or profane language in threads.

Whether it was a paraphrase on a "famous" quote or not , it didn't belong here - and it doesn't belong in PW.

Once in a while you come across a classic case of tone deafness.

The short poem I wrote above and the thread title was a response to the senseless violence and tragedy in France this week.
The words I shared are perhaps unrelated to those events. I value and am grateful for freedom and respect and giving that to others. Living and sharing in the wonder, beauty and joy of life.

Dara, I feel bad that your thread got derailed in this manner. May I suggest this thread be closed so you can start a new one.

Thanks Dave and others that have commented. I don't wish to start another related thread and unless the site moderators would like to close this one , I'm fine with leaving it be.
I didn't take offense to Harpon's response, I just didn't understand what it had to do with my opening post and it seemed rather crude.

I am not a poet (a few attempts here and there) , though I've had a lifelong love of creating art and playing piano and improvisation.
The little poem I wrote last night and entered here was a small sharing of appreciation. Also I have no wish to bring this topic in to the arena of religion or politics, which I realize are off bounds here on this site.
