Thanks Craig, glad to hear the update worked correctly second time around.

I opted against getting the company flu shot this year. I usually remain pretty healthy throughout winter, but I believe a few events conspired against me that weakened my immune system. I'm more or less back to normal now though, thank you.

Cheers,
James

I haven't received a flu shot since the air force back in 2000 and have never really had a full blown flu(got pretty sick in the AF in basic soon after the vaccinations though). I think the shots are joke personally and do more harm than good. If you eat good foods and exercise your body wont get sick. Everyone got sick around me this winter too so I think that's a huge testament to just taking care of your body. Sorry for the health nut rant but its kind of a passion for me last couple of years. a good site I read a lot is naturalnews.com

vinalopo, the VPC1 v1.04 firmware update should still be online, and available to download using the VPC Editor by clicking the 'KAWAI' button in the bottom corner of the window.

The problem was that people were attempting to download and update the VPC1 firmware and VPC Editor at the same time, which could cause the VPC1 firmware update to fail if the user accidentally selected the option to restart the VPC Editor mid-update. Therefore, we've taken the automatic VPC Editor update offline.

By the way, are you using a Mac or a PC?

Kind regards,
James

No, v1.04 is the latest.

However, you may not have the latest VPC Editor installed, which includes the additional Pedal Calibration tool - you can check the VPC Editor program folder to see if the Pedal Calibration tool is there.

If not, please download the latest VPC Editor from:

http://www.kawai-global.com/support/downloads/

Kind regards,
James

I've just downloaded and installed the VPC1 editor from that source. It seems to be version 1.2, and there's no sign of a pedal calibration tool.

I have the pedal calibration tool but when I click start and then it says go ahead and press pedal, I cant get the finish calibration to show up. Basically there is no response from my pedals in the calibration tool.

Hey James, did Kawai ever fix the cause of my crash? I tried to update again and got the same crash, so it is repeatable.

How does it fail? Is it completely unavailable, or does it start and not succeed at calibration?

After I got my replacement F-30 pedal I put it through the calibration. IIRC, there was no on-screen acknowledgement of completion, so the standby dialogue box was still visible and unchanged even though the calibration had taken place. I just closed the box. Having checked the full range was ok from 1-127 I assumed it had worked.

vinalopo, if your VPC1 is already using the v1.04 firmware, the pedal calibration tool should function correctly.

Please try pressing and releasing the pedal slowly a few times to calibrate the full range correctly.

You should then be able to check that the full range of values (1-127) are being being sent using any MIDI monitor software (Pianoteq has this functionality).

Kind regards,
James
