I have a young male student who started lessons recently. The first few lessons were the ultimate test of patience -- he is a sweet boy but was not getting any of the concepts. He's missed several lessons due to illness. Today he came in well prepared, did a wonderful job with his pieces and played duets well. When he was walking away with his mom after the lesson, I overheard him say, "Mom I had fun today!" I smiled all day............when you get over the initial hurdle, it's such a wonderful feeling, but to hear that your student really had fun, that's the icing on the cake.
