I think that was the name. Retailed new at discount £1875 in my local shop. Now, this was in great tune, I could play it alongside one of Yamaha's best Digitals, the CLP575. Frankly, it made the digital sound dull and lifeless. The action seemed pleasant enough, the sound wonderful. I couldn't imagine playing anything more pleasing apart from my own set up which I'm happy with.

Being a direct descendant of the Neanderthal race (Spanish and Irish Gypsy division on my mothers side) doesn't help in my discerning skills of course.

So therefore, for the benefit of anybody here who fancies a real cheap piano, what might the pitfalls be?

PeterWS,

I would love to give you some advice but there isn't enough information here to help. You aren't even sure of the name.

Older pianos have a myriad of possible issues. It would not be practical to just list them here. Can you find out more about the piano? Is it being sold "as is"? Has there been some work gone to it?

These are important questions but also no substitute for a qualified piano technician to check out the piano for you.

My 2 cents,

Thx for the reply Rich. I wasn`t thinking of buying an acouistic for numerous reasons. But that one sounded real good to me . . .it might have been a Steinmayer. I`ll find out and correct this posting. Done, sorry about that. Somebody might me interested in this.
