I like this very much. However I am an atheist so I would not link it to a power above in any way. It is a state from within. Please look up the definition of "flow" on Wikipedia.com. It is like letting yourself (your ego) become absorbed in the music... lose awareness off all other things and focusing your mind on the task at hand, almost like transcendental mediation. Clear your mind, calm focus. It can be a natural high that is deeply satisfying. Breathe, flow...

Comprendo. We're in agreement. Tx for writing) The Divine I am referring to is the force of flow felt within.

She probably has a Russian piano school and trying to reproduce the practice of Anton Rubinstein, who worked on the imitation of Adelina Patti singing . .
I do not think for a jazz piano requires this kind of cantabile; concept of jazz sound isn't based on bel canto, but musical speech in English, reaching in free jazz to shprechgesang.

Yeah, you can see it in a sec. ... she's got a great way of explaining stuff and putting it in order (first things first). I watched the first vid about tone production .... its excellent, well explained pedagogy ... thanks again for pointing it out (and naming Emma). For anyone interested in the piano it's great viewing and there's PDF stuff to download from her web site.

The idea of teaching the musical phrasing through poetic rhythms absolutely correct (I use it in working with students over the iperformance of standards and improvisation) , however:
in which public primary schools teach ancient Greek poetic rhythms: trochee, iambus, anapaest and amphibrach? In Israel for example nowhere, including music colleges and academies.

Don't know how it happened, and i'm probably the last person on the planet to find Kenny Werner, but somehow this thread and it's links, got me surfing YT, and I surfed into KW. For that I'm eternally grateful. Thanks Dave!!
