Hi everyone!
I wanted to share with you some transcriptions I made some time ago. There are available on youtube, and you’ll find a link in the description to download the score.

I did them for learning purposes, and I know some people learn a lot by analyzing improvisations. So now I want to share them.
Some of them don’t contain improvisations but they are nice arrangement.

http://youtu.be/rP7cFH74RVo --> Giant Steps
http://youtu.be/ySdJ60voDzo --> When I fall in Love
http://youtu.be/TBvVrDI79Do --> I child is born
http://youtu.be/dD_A9EuwF-o --> If never entered my mind
http://youtu.be/WCFpgYILvXQ --> Feelings
http://youtu.be/RFVCv9RVhjo --> My way
http://youtu.be/MmOM4_zmOgg --> Au privave

The pianist is Tete Montoliu.

Some are very difficult to play but others like 'When I fall in Love' or 'A child is born' are quite affordable in terms of difficulty.

- good work and a generous gesture!

(Riddler, I'm not getting any problem here with the downloads. Some AVs can be hyperactive...)

That's weird.
The Transcriptions are on youtube for a while and nobody ever told me anything. Also I just download them from mediafire and analyze them with my avast antivirus and it doesn't detect any problem.

If you could write me a PM with the message of your antivirus I would be very thankful.

Thank you. Here's another really beautiful transcription of When I Fall in Love that I think you'll like(about halfway down the page):

This is very interesting! And its very kind of you to submit them. I'm probably not skilled enough to play them but Giant Steps and Au privave are pieces I'd love to be able to play. Au privave, though, would have seemed to be a real challenge for transcription software. Would you be kind enough to share the software/technique you used to transcribe these pieces? I have a particular interest in trying to transcribe "Big Boy" as played by David Drazin, the link for which is:

https://archive.org/details/BigBoyPlayedByDavidDrazinBasedOnTheRecordingByBixBeiderbeckeAnd

The ragtime pianist Ethan Uslan offers sheet music on his website from a number of transcriptions and has told me he has found a particularly good transcription service.

Thanks a lot for this information.

Yes, of course. I used Transcribe!
I don't have any technique. I just do the way I can.
First, I usually write the right hand without the rhythm. Maybe some clear parts of the left hand too, if they come easily. Then I write the rhythm and I complete the left hand. When there is big chords I take my time to really differenciate the real played notes from the overtones and the notes already maintained with the resonance pedal. When I finish I leave it rest for a while, and then check it two o three times more.
I like to use headphones, but the small and cheap ones. They sound clear. That's what I have.
When I listen to music I hear the names of the sounds, a bit annoying, but good for transcribing.

Hi all. I tried to transcribe Larry Carlton's Smiles and Smiles to Go with very little progress. Searched the net to no avail. The one I found was way off. Has any one seen this for piano?
thanks, frank

Your hearing training must be incredible, Karaba. I find it amazing!

Thanks for sharing, I've been hearing them and like "Feelings" very much. I can see I could play with it right from youtube seeing the sheets very big, which I like. laugh
