Hello, I'm going on vacation soon for a month to a place I visit frequently. I'd like to buy a piano and was looking for one and saw this was the cheapest of ANY even without stand and pedal. The name is a Arius STN 800 and I was wondering if anyone had any info on this DP, thanks in advance!

I've not heard of it. Yamaha sells a low-end brand called Arius, but the model numbers are YDP-something. This is something completely different. I would proceed with caution. Play it before buying it, find out about their warranty, and the return policy of the store, etc. Be sure to check out other comparable digital pianos. Try name brands Yamaha, Kawai, Roland, Casio.

I see you have a Yamaha DGX - why not take that? The Yamaha is more portable than that Arius which has a cabinet, and much higher quality action, I'm sure.

If you need to buy something new, don't go with what's cheap, but consider used instruments. Still, I think you're better off going with a Casio PX-150 which may be a little higher than what you're looking at, but you'll enjoy it a lot more than most things in your budget.

My suggestion is that "google is your friend". Here is one link:

www.player.rs/elektricni-klaviri-/-klavinova/arius-stn-800/pro/5893

absolute.rs/index.php?route=product/manufacturer/info&manufacturer_id=718

It does not seem to be available in the US, where instead the YDP models others have referred to are common.

This info was obtained using the "Translate Page" of a couple of sites that showed up. The search only took a few seconds...

@Morodiene Well, the place that I want to buy it in is Bosnia & Herzegovina, which has limited options on instruments.
Casio over there is not available frown

@TonyB Thats the website that I want to buy it from xD. So, in comparison is it better or worse than a yamaha p35 for example?

That 'Arius' is not a Yamaha product - one look tells me that. At the price I'm afraid I am assuming it is a pretty poor quality thing.

I would imagine the P35 is far, far superior.

Good luck!

+1

I think the Arius name is misleading. It's definitely NOT Yamaha. The P35 is probably better.

Interesting that the specifications that were kindly translated earlier in this thread do no mention important things like the action (graded hammer? Escapement?) nor the Polyphony.

Alright thank you so much everybody for your info!
My decision will be the P35 since I tried it in the states also.
