I am looking for a stagepiano, 88 keys with aftertouch, that i can also use both as a standalone stage piano and as a mastercontroller in my homestudio, as well for practicing advanced piano techniques...
I currently have a New Kronos on backorder, however i am still not convinced about the action. I only played one kronos long time ago. But recently i got my hands on an MP7 and MP11 and just loved the key feeling of the MP11. the MP7 also felt lovely, and i loved how you could set it up for playing organ sounds, triggering the sound much earlier. Which makes me doubt my choice for the Kronos as adavnced stage piano again. (I realise its much more, and i am also looking forward to Playing around with Karma again)
Sadly both of these stage pianos have no aftertouch, and when playing synth, strings and other advanced VST sounds, i just love using aftertouch for even more expression. So for now a stage piano with no aftertouch is not an option.
What options would you advise me to take in consideration for use as a stage piano, either a stage piano, or a workstation with great piano sounds aboard.

The only ones I know about are the Kurzweil Forte and the Nord Stage 2 Both are excellent and very expensive. Personally I think the Forte would make a better controller.

Yamaha S90XS has aftertouch and nice feeling action. You can also buy a piano you like plus MIDI controller with synth action and aftertouch.

also Yamaha S90XS or Motif XF8 (where you can add additional piano sounds if you install the flash card), and some other Kurzweils i.e. PC3A8

I come from a 3 keyboard, 5 module setup, and want to get a less cluttered environment... I recently played a clavinova cvp-609 the topmodel, and did not like the action, if the action of the S90xs is anything like the clavinova, i will pass... ( tough my opinion might be biased by the fact that i played the MP11 just before)

I was just mentioning the other day in another thread about how awful the aftertouch controls are on the Nord stage 2. It requires a tremendous amount of force (relatively speaking) to get the aftertouch to activate. I had a work-related repetitive stress injury to my hand some years ago so I'm possibly more sensitive to that than most, but I would not commend the Nord Stage if aftertouch controls are an important part of your playing. I love my stage 2, it's an amazing all around board, but I find the aftertouch controls on it to be basically unusable. Your mileage may vary, but I would definitely try to find one to play before dropping that much cash (unless you just have lots of it to burn .
