This is a live version of a song by the British 80s rock group Talk Talk. The live version of their song "Tomorrow Started" has a BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful piano intro. The first video is from their London 86 album, and the second is from the Live at Montreux DVD. How do you play this? The second video kinda sorta shows you the keys he's playing, but if someone could transcribe it I would be forever grateful.

Hey Mr S, at about 10 seconds into the 2nd vid focus your ears and eyes on what he is doing ... can your ears separate the sounds he's making with his left hand vs. his right, etc.?

My ears are telling me he's playing the intro in a minor key "Gm" which may not be a key you like to play in, but that a simple 5 toned short arpeggio bass line rhythm pattern using the tones in Gm would get you started. Then, when you hear the first chord change coming up (my ears are telling me it goes to D major chord, btw in minor key tunes, the 5 chord is a major chord, switch to it ... see if that gets you started with the intro.

I don't read nor write music but this intro seems simple enough that your ears can probably get the job done if you work with it for a bit ... good luck.

It's not bad at all I'll admit. I'm guessing people would like to see you make an effort yourself before posting.

At 0:42 you can hear a D and an F played together, then making it a Bb triad with the root, to an implied A min chord leaving out the 5th, to an F maj without 5th, to a D min(no 5th). And then he continues this down an octave until he moves to a Cmin7th, which is the 4 chord of the minor key

You'll like my 'Rocket Man intro' thread. It's also in Gmin. Get yourself stuck in!

I would have considered the 5 chord to a D min?? If there's a D maj played then it's from outside the key
