Hello,

I've put up a post similar to this a while back, but I'd still like some more opinions from you wise keyboardists. I'm a self taught musician. I don't have alot of experience, but I've taught myself by ear to play a number of my favorite songs, and I have many more on my list. I have composed a number of my own songs as well ranging from R&B, Jazz, and Chill. I'm looking to take the step and upgrade from a beginner's keyboard to the Yamaha MOXF8. I understand that machine is made for the serious, and trust me I am. I'm looking to take my music to the next level, and I also want a board that will satisfy my desire to learn more. A LOT MORE. Its becoming very difficult to accomplish my musical goals that I have. I'd just like to know the opinions of more experienced players. Is this step too big?? I certainly feel like I'm ready though!! Thanks to all who respond!

P.S.- Just trying to make sure I'm not too eager, and rising through the ranks too fast.
P.P.S.- Hopefully that made sense.

Do you feel an 88 key weighted action is necessary and appropriate to your interests and goals?

Do you intend to work with a Mac or PC as well in your music making - perhaps with some DAW software like Cubase?

If you can better describe what you are capable of now, what you would like to be able to do, and how you intend to get there, we can make a better recommendation with regard to an instrument and any additional tools.
